Afyalishe Wellness is a research-driven social enterprise founded on the belief that life-changing scientific discoveries should not remain in academic journals—they belong on your table.
Anchored at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) and led by Dr. Monica Mburu, a Senior Lecturer and Food Scientist with over a decade of expertise, Afyalishe was born from the need to translate food science into tangible health solutions. We serve as a bridge between the university's rigorous research and the community’s growing demand for safe, natural, and therapeutic nutrition.

Who We Are
We are a unique consortium operating through the Centre for Food Safety and Naturopathy (CeFoNa) within the Institute of Food Bioresources Technology (IFBT). Our identity is defined by two pillars: Scientific Integrity and Holistic Wellness. By commercializing high-quality functional foods and providing professional food safety training, we are building a healthier, more informed food ecosystem in Kenya.
